Farmer Brothers uses four Burns-Thermalo Continuous Roasters that can roast 10,000 pounds of green coffee per hour and complete the roasting cycle from green to finished roast in seven minutes. They are fully automatic and equipped with electronic controls that ensure the blended coffee is conveyed in a steady stream that provides an even and consistent roast. The beans are constantly monitored during the roasting process to ensure the roast and oils are consistent for the blend being produced.
After roasting, the coffee beans are ground to a precise grind that is monitored by a Ro- Tap Sift Analyzer. This machine sifts the ground coffee through a series of screens to ensure that the grind is exact for that blend.
Finally, the coffee is sent to our automated packaging lines that bag, seal and weigh the products. Our coffees are packaged in Whole Roast, Bulk Ground, Portion Pack and Filter Pack bags.
