Farmer Bros. Co. was founded in 1912 when Roy E. Farmer began making home deliveries of coffee in Los Angeles, California. As Roy’s business grew, including deliveries to restaurants and other institutional accounts, his brother Frank joined the company. Roy and Frank expanded their business by providing the finest coffees and service to the food service industry.

That philosophy continued when Roy’s son, Roy F. Farmer became the President and Chairman of the Board in 1951. Roy F. Farmer continued to increase distribution and expand the route sales system that currently covers twenty-nine states.

After serving the Company for 28 years in several capacities, Roy E. Farmer succeeded his father as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer in 2004. He led the Company’s effort to improve its infrastructure by implementing a new Information and Technology System that will guide the Company for many years.

The fourth generation of the Farmer family is now working in our Torrance, California offices. We will continue to expand our business based on the philosophy of our Founder and his family.
